Regular Duty is a low carbon steel strapping produced for low to medium duty applications, e.g., package reinforcement, unitizing, bundling, palletizing and box closure. High Tensile is a high carbon steel strapping that is heat treated to produce a product which combines high strength and elongation (stretch) for shock resistance. Typical applications are unitizing compressed fiber bales, securing heavy steel coils and open-top railcar and trailer loading.

Polyester Strapping is the strongest plastic strapping material and therefore can be a viable alternative for some applications. The highest initial tension can be applied and retained over a period of time compared to other plastic strapping materials. Its excellent recovery properties help a load absorb impact without strap breakage. Polyester is available in both a machine grade and hand grade and is easy to recycle. Polyester is smooth and requires the use of serrated or scored seals. Polyester can also be used with our friction weld tools or be heat sealed.

Polypropylene strap is the most economical type of plastic strapping and is adequate for light to medium duty applications. Acme’s polypropylene is embossed to achieve efficient seal joints and superior split resistance. This product offers elongation recovery properties to ensure secure packaging for shipping, handling, and storage. Polypropylene does not require the use of serrated or scored seals and can also be heat sealed or used with our Sealless Friction Weld Tools."
